I went to TRU yesterday, didn't see the playset or van. I liked the classics so I bought Donatello, will get the rest another time. Saw a few QC issues, chest plate missing on MA and wonky eyes on Raph.
How you finding the playset? Some reviewers have said its flimsy.

Oh really? that's a shame. The Van is awesome, could do with some studs or seats in the interior but other than that it's solid.
I havent had any qc issues with mine but that is shocking to have a chest plate missing from Mike lol
The playset is brilliant only a few little flimsy bits plus I ended up with a broken street lamp part that clicks into the wall (upper-tear of playset)
The card back drop is flimsy as fuck, keeps poppoing out. but one or two bits aside it's a great playset. If a kid wanted they could have 2 seperate ps's out of it too by detaching the street bit and using it as a stand alone ps, it doesn't leave the sewer part too wobbly either so in all it's clever if not intentional lol
Oh some of the stickers are fucking stupid though. they have to be placed on some uneven surfaces which leaves them pealing

I'd like to add that playmates have missed a great oppurtunity hear to have this playset as a main part to building one mammoth street playset. the street part is a lot smaller than the bottom which leaves it with plenty of space to expand. This is also possible cos of how the pipe sticks out by the computer, which could part support another upper tear playset.
Shame really

The Nick TMNT had been picked apart, there wasn't much left. Its great that it appears to be doing well.
Doesn't sound like the PS would cope with being played with

Yep hopefully this line won't tank like thundercats did.
The PS is there to be stared at.
Smyths has sold out of the TMNTs too The classics are shifting nicely as well. within a couple of days they went from a full stack to only don being left. Signs are good for the classics.
Now I'm going to go play with my turtle head

I'm wondering how many parents are buying all four turtles at once.

You'd be right I'm the devil.
I tried finding the original mtv video just now but failed. I had this nagging doubt that the person said they'd be making different versions of the turtles in the classics line and not the other characters. Anyone got a link?

Found the original link.
Doesn't say it after all Basically says if it does well, they might expand it to include the films, comic and relaunch cannon It wouldn't make sense to have different versions of just the turtles each series would it?

It would be a daft move to not make the whole range of characters. Though smaller turtles would be great

The problem is selling secondary characters to stores who may only have an interest in selling the turtles.

This is true especially in this country. Chirst they won't even stock marvel legends here despite the movies being a great boost for the sale of marvel toys.
Last time I checked TRU had the latest ML's in and they sold well so I dunno why they don't think there's interest

The stores are fuckwits. They don't know figures from their sister's left titty. If its run in the same vein as marvel select or Neca we'll be okay.

I'm not saying it will happen, but I believe that's what Neca claimed that they couldn't sell that second wave of Turtles figures because it wasn't the turtles.

I recall something about the license changing hands around that time as well. Foot soldiers would sell cos us collectors would buy multiples.

I think the Neca figs were 08 while Nick purchased TMNT in 09, the SDCC April was 09 as well.
We would at least 3 each
One of the great things about the lego all but one of the sets has a Foot soldier included whether it makes sense to include it or not
