| Reading the reviews I fear that Marvel have done a Spiderman 3 on us and tried to cram in too much. I reckon it's just gonna be a lot of chopping and changing of scenes that'll lead up to a disappointing pay off and im not gonna blame Fav for this as Marvel have tried to really rush this movie into getting done and look to have used it as a platform to set up an Avengers film and maybe ignoring the progression of Tony Stark himself What I do hope is that this is a one off and that Iron Man 3 (if there is one) can get back to focusing on Stark and the many wonderful stories the genre possesses Im going to see it tomorrow and will let you know what it's like | |

| I'm happy to report that critics don't know shit!! This film was fucking awesome! Obviously there are some niggly bits like the lack of an accent in Widow, the pointless story shoe in for shield (it should have had something to build up to but didnt) that went nowhere and only had two recognisable members despite it being set up 30 odd years prior to Iron man 1 etc However, the fear of there being too many characters to deal like in SM 3 was instantly quashed just after the monaco scene where things wonderfully fall into place and work out just right. The mostly ad libbed script again works really well although under certain situations the bickering between pepper and stark doesnt feel realistic to the situation and tries to keep the humour in the harshest of times which sometimes makes you not sympathise with either character's plight. If you are an Iron Man fan then you can forgive Favreu for giving Happy a bigger part in this film and personally i thought it was a good move as it added some really good comic relief moments into a sometimes pretentious dialogue. Don Cheadle was an EXCELLENT replacement for Terrence Howard and you can't help back think why they didnt get him in in the first place. Thank you Terrence for being greedy. Sam Rockwell was just fine as Justin Hammer though that role could have been played and pulled off by anyone with a personality. Mickey Rourke as Whiplash also falls into the same category of "anyon could play that" and tbh I didnt feel him or his "revenge" at all as it was masked with sitting behind a desk for the most part. The action was great but i will not say anything about it as I dont' want to give anything away. I'm very happy with the end result and im actually gonna go see it again. tata for now | |

| AICN & Empire both gave it the thumbs up, so that's good enough for me. Midnight show starts in a few hours, so here I go! | |

| LOVED IT! It looked & sounded beautiful on the Imax! I hate it's only playing for 2 weeks (god damn shrek!!), but I definitely want to see it there again! I'd say it tops X2 and is right up there w/Superman 2 as far as best comic book sequels. Pretty much agree with everything Tom said, especially with Don Cheadle. He should've been Rhodey all along. Jon, Gwyneth, ScarJo, & Sam Rockwell all played their parts brilliantly. Watching Sam Jackson just makes me want to see Avengers...like NOW! I thought Mickey Rourke rocked it as Whiplash. He brought a lot of his crazy ideas for the character (the tattoos, the teeth, the cockatoo) and made it fun to watch. I think he could've gotten a tad more screen time, though. Especially the finale (which I won't ruin just yet...but if youv'e seen it it's so badass you know what I mean) And of course I hope everyone stayed for the credits. | |

| I googled that the other day as I still haven't seen it.
Its probably not best for me to tell you the answer cos it wouldn't be in my own words. All I'll say was that I found the extra bit predictable.

SPOILERS!
I liked it until it fizzled out in the end. The last fight was ridiculously short. I was disappointed by Vanko's armor. The video game version even looked better. I was hoping it'd be something similar to Crimson Dynamo or Titanium Man. The Monaco sequence was awesome, as was Tony propping up his equipment with Cap's shield. I wish Black Widow was edgier. It would've been better if Tony and the audience didn't know she was a SHIELD agent until the end. Why 'd she have her widow bite gauntlets if she didn't use them? And why was her catsuit navy blue instead of black? Justin Hammer should've been Peter Cushing (or Renee Auberjonois), but Sam Rockwell had lots of humorous dialogue. The new element for the arc reactor retcon was really far fetched. Why didn't his dad write it down? Howard Stark had Anto Vanko deported for embracing the Capitalist dream. What a jerkwad.

| Yeah I agree the ending shoud've been longer. I was expecting a three-way mecha throwdown and then it was over before it really got started.
I read originally they were going to go with Al Pacino for Justin Hammer, which would've been brilliant. But yeah Rockwell's dance at the expo actually made me laugh. And my wife just loved the Pepper/Tony relationship.
And yeah the whole arc reactor element thing didn't make much sense. Too much "Davinci Code" ripping off that was just thrown in for the weird gadget-y stuff. Yeah just a piece of paper hidden in the diorama or in Cap's shield would've been just fine.
And wasn't Vanko's dad going to sell the technology to the commies?
Oh, and did anyone else's audience boo when Bill O' Reilly appeared on the tv? Personally I think the guy's an obnoxious cock, but at least he can make fun of the fact he's really full of shit. In fact I think he really did diss Paltrow once, when she made some kind of comment about something.
