Talk about the last movie you saw...

Thought I'd make a thread to talk about and/or review the latest movies you've seen.

For me it was The Lovely Bones. Just came back from a sneak preview. I went with my wife, who's read the book and was really looking forward to seeing it. I haven't, but I love everything PJ has done so I was willing to give it a look.

I loved it. It's very sad and very moving, but it's still a friggin' great movie. In case you don't know it's based on a book about a girl in the 1970's who is brutally raped & murdered by a neighbor and ends up in heaven watching over her family and guiding her sister to help catch the guy before he does it again.

My wife was sorta disappointed, she said they took out a lot of character development from the book and overdid the visual effects. I have to say, the visuals of her afterlife are pretty incredible.

The movie's not that graphic (apparently the book is), but if you're a parent like me it totally scares the shit out of you. I swear my girl won't ever walk alone until she's like...40.

I hope it wins some awards. Definitely check it out!

The last film I watched was Blade Runner on TV last night. Unfortunately the BBC in their wisdom decided to use a very poor quality version of it that looked horrible.

I've seen the 30 mins or so of the film countless times before but never sat through the whole thing due to getting bored and turning over. I said to myself that I will sit through this time to work out why people like it so much. Unfortunately I still found it completely dull and still found the futuristic dystopian elements a bit weird and depressing.

I can certainly see how influential the film is in things like Fifth Element, Judge Dredd and Watchmen to name but a few. However, I completely devoid of excitement and therefore entertainment.

TBH IMF I find all Of ridley scott's films boring. I dont know why but i dont like any of his films. THey dont suck, they bore me senseless
