I like the sleek modern Cap costume more than the ugly puffy WWII costume with its useless straps and lack of scale mail. The Avengers assemble webseries folks pulled off a classic Hawkeye costume splendidly, but I guess you can't outdo that on a multi-million dollar budget: http://avengersassembletheseries.com/avengers-cast/hawkeye/

Yeah, as much as I'd want to be purist, the purple costume w/tunic would look as silly as the ditched Wonder Woman TV costume.

If he went around dressed like classic Hawkeye it'd show he has adamantium testicles. Real badasses aren't afraid to look goofy in public on purpose.
