right in my pants!
Honestly I wasn't expecting much from the new prequelboot, but holy shit if I didn't love it.
I'm already thinking it's one of my favorite summer movies!
Andy Serkis deserves a fucking award. Hands down. Some of the parts w/Caesar had me really choked up.
And the Ape effects are friggin' brilliant.
The story made sense, with some great references to the original, and it sets up for the sequels nicely!
Glad to see Fox knew what they were doing for a change.
I didn't think Tim Burton's remake was all that bad, but this one really puts it to shame.
Like he'll watch this & go "oh shit, I should've done that!"
I can't wait to see what they do next. Since this one had a "Conquest" kind of vibe, maybe the next is something more like "Battle"?
Or maybe they'll bring it straight into the time of the first film. It'd be awesome if they make it more like the original Boullé novel (which if you've never read it...think of the 1970's animated series and that's pretty damn close!)
Either way, I hope they take their time & do it RIGHT. Like they're doing w/the Star Trek sequel. Better take their time & be good than bum-rush production and end up with shit you can't take back.
Sucks there's no new toys.
Oh well. It did make me want to get back into the originals.
I got the blu ray set on amazon tonight for $40. Fuckin' A!
So yeah...GO SEE IT!
