| Yeah the quote from AFP below says it all. I am in happy to see them coming back BUT I fear itll be just a lot of Wolverine, Cap, Thor Spidey and IM figs in EVERY wave just like Marvel Universe and also what will now be the cost of these? I doubt they'll be £10 anyway let us wait and see.
First off, let’s start with Marvel Legends. I was a little surprised that they decided to show some items – at least in the slide show. None of what we were shown was available in the showroom, and that’s not surprising since this is 2012 product. And unlike last year, no pictures or video was allowed during the presentation. But, across the board, I can say what was in the slide show looked good.
Legends will actually make its return at San Diego Comic Con, with an exclusive figure of Heroic Age Thor. The package, which Hasbro did not reveal, will be pretty special (lights and sounds?) with artwork by Simone Bianchi. It looks like Legends will follow the Marvel Universe model of numbering its figures, as Thor will bear the Marvel Legends #0. Also shown in unpainted sculpt only (some wax, some 3D) were Ultimate Hawkeye, who Jesse Falcon told me was sculpted by Dave Cortez, and Heroic Age Captain America (Bucky Barnes), who I am guessing is a 3D sculpt by Gentle Giant.
The big news, though, is that the Build-a-Figure will be back with Legends, with Terrax the Tamer being the first revealed, again in unpainted sculpt form. Depending on who you talk to, the BAF concept was either a slam dunk once Hasbro decided to bring Legends back, or a topic of much debate. I would guess that with the history of the BAF and now Mattel’s Collect and Connect, there was no denying the positive impact the BAF would have at retail – but there were probably some challenges in getting it to cost out.
The expectation from everyone at Hasbro is that the Legends line will continue the quality we’ve seen in the Legends 2-packs that we’ve gotten sporadically since the main line went on hiatus. I can’t wait to see more at San Diego Comic-Con. | |

| Well they can't be more than $14.99 USD, can they?? For me it'll be like DCUC, unless the BAF is a must-have I'll just collect the figures I want. I might be going to SDCC this year on a dealer badge, so I'll see how that pans out. From TheFwoosh: - Quote :
- A lot of us have been wondering what we can expect from “new” Legends; would it be a reboot? Continuation? I was told that it is being thought of as a continuation.
Jesse Falcon tells me that the quality, sculpt and articulation that we saw in the recent two-packs is what we can expect going forward. As far as tooling and parts, they will continue to pull from the existing library where appropriate, but Josh Lamb says they are anxious to introduce new tools and expand that library. But I do get the impression we should not expect body re-use in the vein of DC Universe Classics. In other words, they’re not re-inventing the wheel. Your new Legends are going to be a lot like the old Legends. (or at least the newest old Legends).
As for character selection, Falcon tells me they want to continue to move forward with characters they haven’t done. They’re not thinking of it as a reboot where they would start over with a lot of A-Listers again. They’re not interested in re-visiting characters they’ve already done unless they can bring something new to it. He said, “We’re not going to do another Spider-Man just to do Spider-Man”. That said, there will be A-Listers (like the new Cap) and undoubtedly some re-dos of characters they’ve done, but they will always try to have a good reason for a refresh; like an updated costume, etc.
What about characters we all wanted for years, only to see turn up in Marvel Universe (like the Wrecking Crew, Klaw, etc.)? Josh Lamb says the lines are completely separate and character selection from one line will have zero influence on the other. So just because you’re getting a Gladiator in Marvel Universe, doesn’t mean they won’t do him in Legends.
Overal, they are very excited and upbeat about Legends. Marvel Universe has sold EXTREMELY well for them, and so retailer interest in Legends is strong. Marvel’s prolific film schedule has occupied a lot of Hasbro’s resources, but now that most of that product is through the pipeline, Legends is getting a lot of focus and attention.

| We'll be lucky if they are less than £17 in the UK assuming they turn up at retail feck knows if specialist shops are the only place carrying them then they could be around £20. | |

| Pretty sure they'll be in the same 6" scale. And no worries, for sure Thanos is coming, like hopefully Arnim Zola, Mr. Hyde, Stilt Man, Nimrod, Lockjaw & Zzzax are coming as well! Still will be tough to beat the MS version, though. | |
